A Thanksgiving Tradition Returns Bigger and Brighter

The nation’s most cherished holiday tradition, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, is set to captivate millions once again for its 97th edition. This year, the spectacle returns with an earlier start time, a dazzling lineup of performers headlined by the iconic Cher, and an array of imaginative new floats and balloons. The parade will air live on NBC and be simulcast on Peacock, ensuring everyone can join the festivities.

How to Watch the 2023 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Mark your calendars for Thursday, November 23. In a first for the event, the parade will kick off 30 minutes earlier than usual, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and running until noon in all time zones. You can catch every moment live on NBC and Peacock.

Hosting the broadcast are the familiar faces of “TODAY” — Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Al Roker. For Spanish-speaking audiences, a simulcast will be available on Telemundo, hosted by Carlos Adyan and Andrea Meza.

Star-Studded Performance Lineup

The 97th parade boasts an incredible roster of musical talent, with the legendary Cher leading the way. Viewers will also be treated to performances from a diverse group of artists, including:

The parade will bring the magic of Broadway to 34th Street with special performances from the casts of some of the hottest shows, including “& Juliet,” “Back to the Future: The Musical,” “How to Dance in Ohio,” “Shucked,” and “Spamalot.” Additionally, Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells of “Gutenberg! The Musical!” will make a special appearance. And, of course, the world-famous Radio City Rockettes will be there to deliver their signature high kicks.

Spectacular New Balloons and Floats

The parade’s sky-high stars and street-level stages are getting some exciting new additions this year:

  • New Balloons: Look for Beagle Scout Snoopy, Blue Cat & Chugs, Po from “Kung Fu Panda,” and Leo the Lizard.
  • New Floats: Marvel at the “Igniting Imagination” float by The LEGO Group, Brach’s “Palace of Sweets,” the “Good Burger Mobile” from Paramount+, and Peanuts Worldwide’s “Camp Snoopy.”
  • New F-alloon: A new hybrid float and balloon creation featuring Monkey D. Luffy will make its debut.

With an earlier start and a lineup packed with stars and spectacle, the 97th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is poised to be an unforgettable kickoff to the holiday season.
