Randy ‘Shotgun’ Shannon Promoted to Y100 Program Director

A New Chapter for a Y100 Legend

Longtime radio personality Randy “Shotgun” Shannon, a familiar voice to Green Bay’s morning listeners for over a quarter-century, is stepping into a significant new role. Midwest Communications Green Bay has officially announced Shannon’s promotion to Program Director for country station Y100 (WNCY-FM) and its sister station, 95.9 KISS FM (WKSZ-FM).

What This Means for Morning Show Listeners

Fans of the “Y100 Morning Show” can breathe a sigh of relief. While Shannon is moving from his full-time co-host position, he isn’t disappearing from the airwaves. He will continue to be a part of the morning routine, joining current co-host Charli McKenzie for a daily check-in segment at 7:50 a.m. on weekdays.

This transition follows the departure of his former co-host, Luke Matthews, in January. The promotion recognizes Shannon’s extensive experience and deep-rooted connection with the local audience and broadcasting community.

Looking Ahead for Green Bay Radio

In his new capacity, Shannon will oversee the programming strategy and on-air talent for two of the area’s most popular stations, a challenge he has expressed excitement about undertaking. With Shannon’s transition effective immediately, the search is now officially underway for a new full-time co-host to partner with Charli McKenzie on the “Y100 Morning Show.” Midwest Communications is actively seeking a new voice to help wake up Northeast Wisconsin.
